Police are investigating the theft of fence posts from county property along the Hamakua Coast.

Police are investigating the theft of fence posts from county property along the Hamakua Coast.

Sometime between 2 p.m. Tuesday and 8:30 a.m. Thursday, unknown people pulled 47 T-rail posts out of the ground and removed them from county property along Hawaii Belt Road (Highway 19) just on the Paauilo side of the 35-mile marker. The posts are all silver and 6 1/2 feet in length.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police nonemergency line at 935-3311 or Officer Joseph Passmore at 775-7533.

Those who prefer anonymity can call Crime Stoppers at 961-8300.
